The Marchiori Estate is an important part in Viña Cobos' history, Malbec grapes grown in one block here were the source of the inaugural vintage release. This wine is aged for 18 months in new French oak (55%) in combination with second use oak (45%) and uses fruit form vines the majority of which are over 50 years old.
Paul Hobbs established Vina Cobos in 1999 10 years after falling in love with the Mendoza region on a road trip. He first 10 barrel vintage of Malbec persuaded the Amnerican press of the potential of what is now one of the worlds most popular grape varieties.
